Burton, honestly I do not know much about Surry. Region A is kind of an outcast, they produce nothing and play nobody outside their region ever. It's really hard to tell just how good they are. I think a JI Burton/WC game would be a great game if everyone was healthy. I know a lot of people are going to comment on the scrimmage but it looked to me as if WC was holding a lot back, I dont know though. How they have performed in the regular season leads me to believe that is the case. </div></div>
I really think George Wythe has grown some since the Giles game early in the season. Either way I think it will be close! The score on 9-21 was 28 to 7 in favor of Giles. Just 3 TDs which was the same differnce between the regular season game with GC and Leb. Also a George Wythe team in 02 avenged their regular season loss to Radford then beat top seeded Floyd on to beat a very good GC team and go on to win state. To me GW is no stranger to being the spoiler.
Also I went 14-2 the first round. My Region C D1 rep Holston lost. Now I see Bath County upsetting RR.

I plan on blowing you away this week with PV and GW. haha
Seriously though, I've not seen GW play but I've seen Giles play and they are no where as good as they were last year. Giles is huge upfront and can stopo the run better than any team I've seen this year. To beat Giles your going to have to throw the ball, they pack the middle of the field. Floyd came out in gun with four wide and Giles straight up plays a 4-4, if you hit a hitch and make a guy miss it's off to the raises. Not just because I'm from PV but I really believe PV is the only team this side of the state that has a shot at Giles. I also believe that Gretna/Goochland would run wild on Giles, they are big as well and if Giles cant run they might as well tuck tail and go home. They attempted three passes in the game I attended and 2 were completed, to Floyd. The other was a wide open TD pass and the reciever tripped over his own two feet and fell down as the ball was getting to him and he dropped it.
I watched Giles play Lebanon on TV. Giles didnt look too good in the first half but in the 3rd they looked like world beaters. They are good but I am with you about Gretna and Goochland. They are on a whole other level above any one this side of the state.
How are the Giles injuries this week?
Unless Goochland is better than last year, I don't see what all the fuss is about them. I wastched them play Giles, and Giles handed tham the game. But, I didn't see anything out there that looked that great.

That was last year though.
I would be totally shocked if Gretna did not win the state title.
